1. Why furry?
Well, the concept of anthropomorphic animals has always held a certain fascination for me; I was all over the ‘animorphs’ books when they came out (though it’s not the same thing of course), and sort of held a ‘backseat’ liking for the idea for a while. Then, through some friends I met on some online Creative Writing Role Playing Games, I got into seeing the art and learning about their characters that were furry, and it kind of took from there.
I mainly choose to base the Ki’aa universe in a furry realm because it helps a bit with the fantasy feel of it; some of the characters have rather abnormal attributes, and I find that it helps if they’re not human (read: I think Dragon Ball Z gets ridiculous at times). I also feel that it’s easier to show personality and physical traits by relating species images; for example, Stribog, a calm-yet-powerful leader, is a horse because most people associate a generally gentle attitude mixed with great power in horses. It’s a stylistic choice mainly.
Does this mean I consider myself a furry? No. I’m rather fond of my human body, and wouldn’t trade it for anything; I just like the concept of anthropomorphs.
